The Proposals

The application proposals which, have now been submitted to North Lincolnshire Council as local planning authority, comprise a ‘full’ planning application for the development of a new Lidl foodstore and public house / restaurant. As part of this, the application includes:

  • A new Lidl foodstore, comprising 2,125 sqm gross floorspace with 154 car parking spaces;
  • A new public house / restaurant, comprising 637 sqm gross floorspace with 64 car parking spaces;
  • A green footway to the east of the site, providing pedestrian access from Ferriby Road to the south of Top Field; and
  • An enlarged landscaping buffer along the eastern boundary of the site.

The submitted planning application proposals take on board feedback that was received in relation to Lidl and North Lincolnshire Council’s earlier consultation exercise. All comments received were carefully considered and, where possible, we have sought to address these in the finalised scheme by:

  • Removing 1.5 ha of land from the proposals, so that the southern end of Top Field remains undeveloped and retained for informal public use; and
  • Proposing a single storey, reduced height Lidl store on site.
